Roles and Responsibilities

Role Description
The purpose of this job is to create shoe designs for the company based on trend forecasts and mandates given. The designer will have to liaison with the production and sampling team and will be responsible for the start to the end of the product creation.

Responsibilities
Strategic Excellence
● Create innovative and affordable footwear design concepts.
● Work with marketing personnel to collaborate on design projects to maximize effectiveness and build products to target cost.
● Build and present seasonal product strategies and trend boards.
● Innovation through fashion-forward new designs and technologies

Execution Excellence
● Responsible for getting prototypes and samples executed to reflect the concept and design created.
● Deep understanding of fashion trends and directions through travel, shop the markets, Tradeshows and researching the competition.
● Create accurate cads quickly and efficiently.
● Knowledge and understanding of competitors top sellers, technologies, styling, colors, strategies and pricing
● Protect and enhance CAI “DNA”.
Drives Key Metrics:
● CSAT, CNPS
● Revenue Growth etc.
People Partnering
● Constant interaction with Merchandisers on all aspects of product line plans, briefs, color palette, pricing, themes, graphics, and strategies.
● Working with developers/materials team to coordinate and develop new materials, constructions, processes, and procedures.
Success Criterion
● Building a portfolio of designs that consistently fall under the best seller category
● Introducing new categories in the footwear segment
● Coordinating with the design team and the production and supply team
● Coming up with unique ways to match our brand language
Qualifications and Experience
● 7-10 years of work experience in design
● Top tier institutions: NID,NIFT (preferred)
● Experience in high growth startups, E-Commerce companies, Footwear brands (preferred)
Desirable Traits and Skills:
● Subject Matter Expertise: Understanding of shoe engineering, illustration skills, proficiency with CAD software programs. Deep understanding of the e-commerce and B2C brands. Familiar with the fashion industry, have a broad knowledge of textiles and materials used in making different kinds of shoes
● Thought Leadership: Deep analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
● Execution Excellence: Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity, strong bias for action
● Founder Mindset: Contributes beyond scope of the role. Thinks team and organization first
